Hello/Intro libraryReturn to index of stories... |
This week we're broadcasting from the NH Political Library, inside the State Library in Concord as we preview the upcoming Legislative session. Hello, I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook. It's a whole new ballgame at the State House. For the first time in more than a century both the House and Senate will be controlled by Democrats. The "official" change of power began with the December 6-th Organization Day. |

A look at Doug Scamman's political career. |
Intro ScammanReturn to index of stories... |
Outgoing House Speaker Doug Scamman passed the torch on Organization Day. Scamman has spent most of his life in public service, including 24 years in the state House. During most of that time, he also ran his dairy farm in Stratham, and for the past two years, he has served his second term as Speaker. Outlook's Richard Ager caught up with Doug Scamman and his wife Stella in late October and talked to them about their life in politics and what's next. |

This is most likely the end of Doug Scamman's legislative career. He and Stella say they'll remain active in politics and look forward to picking a candidate to support in the upcoming Presidential Primary. |
